Obituary of Mildred Kleinschmidt

Mildred Joanne Kleinschmidt, 77, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Friday morning, November 2, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7th at St. Luke?s Lutheran Church. Rev. Thomas Graves will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the church. Millie was born July 14, 1935 in Wisconsin Rapids to George and Gertrude (Loomans) TerMaat. She married Arvin Kleinschmidt on September 18, 1954. The couple was blessed with 58 years of marriage. Millie was a woman of strong faith and a member of St. Luke?s Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She and her husband, Arvin, were very involved in Lutheran Laymen?s League and attended many conventions together. They were also very involved with Orphan Grain Train and Peace Campus Center at the University of Stevens Point. Millie was a very crafty person and enjoyed sewing and knitting. Family was the center of her life and she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. Her love of children was evident in not only how she cared for her children and grandchildren, but also for other?s children as a babysitter for many years and as a bus aide for Safe-Way, a position that she really enjoyed. Millie is survived by her husband, Arvin; five children: Keith of Austin, TX, Bonny (William) Parker of Maple Grove, MN, Roma (Dave) McClyman of Stevens Point, Cydelle Yager of Winton Salem, NC, and Ellen Kleinschmidt (Carl Reckseidler) of Bloomington, MN; six grandchildren: Brynn Parker, Jennifer Konkol, Denise Konkol, Kira Yager, Amanda Yager, and CJ Yager; four great-grandchildren: Chase Gayer, Payton Konkol, Landen Larsen, and Kaylee Testerman; and a sister, Gladys (Dale) Walker of Wisconsin Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Hilda TerMaat. Memorials may be designated to Lutheran Laymen?s League or Orphan Grain Train.
