Obituary of LuEtta Gabler
LuEtta R. Gabler, 71, Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Riverview Medical Center.
Private services will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 4pm until 7pm on Friday, November 16th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
LuEtta was born in Wisconsin Rapids on November 21, 1940 to the late Hugo and Lucetta (Schmoll) Vollert. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958 and continued her education at Mid-State Technical College in Marshfield, graduating with a certificate in Transcription. LuEtta married Virgil Gabler on December 13, 1958 at the old St. Paul?s Evangelical Church.
She enjoyed farming with Virgil, raising her children and being a homemaker. She was an excellent cook, making every meal delicious, but her family thinks her lasagna and fresh baked bread were the best.
LuEtta spent her spare time collecting pigs, quilting and crocheting. She also did a genealogy search of her family, delving into seven lines of family history and taking a trip to Germany to learn more of her heritage. She also enjoyed playing the card games of Sheepshead and Euchre.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil; children: Vanessa (Patrick) Hanneman; Kimberly (Jeff) Monahos; Jacquelyn (Stephen) Archibald; Jeffrey Gabler; Herbert (Mickey Sawaska) Gabler; Kathleen (Jeff Whitrock) Gabler; grandchildren: Conrad (Amanda), Jason (Amy), Charlene (Matt), Anthony, John, Nicole, Michelle, Christopher, Phillip, Zachary and Logan; great-grandchildren: Devontae, Jaden, Aliyah, Abbigail, Jordan, Alexander, Whittney, Wynter; sisters-in-law: Palma Gabler, Gwendolyn (Ervin) Tomczyk; step-sister, Donna (Pat) Dillingham and her beloved Jack Russel Terrier, Trixie; and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Wesley Monroe and four step-brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to UW Riverview Cancer Center, 410 Dewey St., Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494.
