Obituary of Ethel Kronstedt

Ethel M. Kronstedt, formerly of 7033 Lundberg Road, Wisconsin Rapids, went home to her Lord on Friday, November 16, 2012. For the past three years she resided at Pine Ridge Memory Care in Wisconsin Rapids. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vesper. Rev. Douglas Schalow will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 20 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. Ethel was born August 1, 1927 in the Town of Milladore to Aloisius and Rosalia (Rickl) Rohmeyer. She married Robert A. Kronstedt on October 10, 1945 in Blenker, Wisconsin. Ethel and Bob lived in central Wisconsin all their life where they raised their two daughters and a son. They farmed in the Town of Sigel. When Bob went to work as a carpenter, Ethel took responsibility for the farm. In later years, she tremendously enjoyed their hobby farm and ?the beefers.? Bob and Ethel worked side by side in their almost sixty years of marriage. When he became ill, Ethel was his primary caregiver. He died February 6, 2005. Ethel enjoyed collecting santas, scrap booking, family vacations, quilting, bird watching, and crafting. She was a 4-H leader in her early years. She also was a Ladies? Aid member at both Bethany Lutheran in Sigel and Trinity Lutheran in Vesper. Ethel especially enjoyed meeting with her neighborhood Bible study group. Ethel not only raised her three children, but she was very active in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren?s lives. She took great pride in their accomplishments, and they always knew they could talk to Grandma about anything. Her family will forever remember her baked goods and holiday meals, but her loving, caring ways are their most precious memory. She is survived by two daughters: Marilyn (Dennis) Erickson, Wisconsin Rapids; R. Maureen (Lawrence) Daczkowski, Wisconsin Rapids; and one son: Robert Jr. (Linda) Kronstedt, Arpin. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Phil (Tami) Abel, Vesper; Dean Abel, Wisconsin Rapids; Jenny (Todd) Calverley, Wisconsin Rapids; Josh Kronstedt, Vesper; Luke (Lisa) Kronstedt, Wisconsin Rapids; six great-grandchildren: Kari and Kevin Abel, Vesper; Cody Abel; Noah and Lauren Calverley; and Conner Kronstedt, all of Wisconsin Rapids; two step-grandchildren: Chad (Brandy) Haza and Josie, Alpine, CA; Rod (Julie) Haza of LaMesa, CA; brother, George E. Rohmeyer, Marshfield, sister-in-law, Irene Rohmeyer, and brother-in-law, Vernon Schara, both of Wisconsin Rapids. Ethel was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, four brothers (Louie, Joe, George J., and Frank), four sisters (Rose, Edna, Mary and Hattie). Praise and glory to God for Ethel?s life on earth and for her eternal life in heaven! A heartfelt thank you to the caring staff at Pine Ridge for all you did each day for our mother. She grew close to many of you. A sincere thank you for the kindness and understanding you showed to all of our family during the last days we spent with mom. You have a special place in our hearts. Also thank you to the hospice caregivers and to Pastor Doug for his many prayers and visits. You are appreciated, and God bless you all!
