Obituary of Donald Mehlbrech
Donald B. Mehlbrech, 72, died peacefully in his sleep Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Portage County Health Care Center.
Don was born August 2, 1940 in Wisconsin Rapids to Elwin and Ruth (Sommers) Mehlbrech. He married Millie Streeter on April 28, 1962, which later ended in divorce.
Don was employed for 33 years at Nekoosa Edwards Papers, Inc. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons in their sport events. He also enjoyed traveling on trains and taking cruises to warm climates. He loved dogs and spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors include his four sons: Elwin (Karen), Chicago, IL; Dan, Wisconsin Rapids; Ron (Ann), Plover; and Tom, Madison; ten grandchildren: Thomas, Cole, Maculey, Aaron, Jacob, Peter, Emily, Morgan, Bethany, Regan; four siblings: Charlotte (Vernon), Hagen, Jerry, Dave (Karen) and Ruthann; ex-wife, Millie (Streeter) Musch and ex-daughter-in-law, Cheryl Burmeister, who he was very fond of; many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Wayne and Dale.
Graveside services will be held at Meehan Cemetery on Friday, November 30 at 1:00 PM. Condolences should be sent to Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids who is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family would like to thank the Portage County Health Care Center staff for taking such good care of Donald since his stroke in May, 2010.
