Obituary of Mary Eastling
Mary Ferne Eastling, 80, Wisconsin Rapids, died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Riverview Medical Center.
Services will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 30th at Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church. Rev. Mary Lou Plummer will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
Mary was born in Jackson County, Wisconsin on May 31, 1932 to Earl and Ferne (Ball) Staffon. She married Gerald E. Eastling on April 25, 1953 in Rudolph. He died on December 23, 2002.
Mary worked for the Wood County Parks Department as a secretary, retiring after many years of employment with the County.
She was an avid Packer, Badger and NASCAR fan, especially Jeff Gordon. Gerald, Mary and the kids enjoyed many camping trips together, including a special trip out west. Mary was a kind hearted mom, not only to her own children but all the children in the neighborhood. Mary welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and open plates. She was a fantastic baker and enjoyed sharing these baked goodies. She also liked having coffee with the ladies in the neighborhood knitting club. In her later years Mary enjoyed going to the casino.
Survivors include four daughters: Nancy (James) Camaquin of Downers Grove, IL. and their children: Rachel, Nathan, Courtney, Jennifer (Tim) Duska, and Nicholas; Leah (Curt) Babcock of Wisconsin Rapids and their children: Amy and David; Carol (Richard) Nichols of Wisconsin Rapids and their children: Christine and Ross; Susan (Steve) Potocny of Waunakee and their children: Benjamin and Maxwell; two sons: Daniel Eastling of Wisconsin Rapids and his children: Danielle and Dylan and great- grandson, Conner James; and Michael (Maggie) Eastling of Florence, AZ and their daughter, Robyn; two sisters: Ruth (John) Rawling, Hastings, Minnesota; and Linda (Jim) Cooper, Port Huron, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Grace Holiday and grandson, Jacob Babcock.
Mary?s family will be establishing a memorial in her memory at a later date.
Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the family with arrangements.
