Obituary of Marjorie Jane Peters

Marjorie Jane Peters, age 98, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Wisconsin Rapids. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor Micah Schlobohm will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Private family burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Marjorie was born January 21, 1918 in Wisconsin Rapids to Henry and Ida (Halverson) Sampson Jr. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1935 and worked as bookkeeper and office manager for Sampson Canning Co. from 1935-1945. Marjorie was united in marriage to William Peters Jr. on October 21, 1945 in Rudolph, WI. Marjorie is survived by two sons: Robert H. (Sandra) Peters and Mark W. Peters, both of Wisconsin Rapids; two grandchildren: Lynsey (Randy) Miller of Wisconsin Rapids and Brian (Alyson) Peters of Menasha, WI; and seven great-grandchildren: Keynan, Grady, Delaney, Mya, MacKenzie, Emily and Cassie. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Peters Jr.; brothers: H. Ray Sampson, Harold Sampson, Gerald "Jim" Sampson and Ralph Sampson; and a sister, Janet Sampson. Special thanks to the staffs of Renaissance Assisted Living, Aspirus Riverview Hospital, Atrium Post Acute Care and Ministry Home Care Hospice for all of their care and concern for Marjorie. Memorials may be designated to the South Wood County Humane Society.
