Obituary of Carol Saeger

Carol A. Saeger, 76, Wisconsin Rapids, died Saturday, December 15, 2012 surrounded by her family at Riverview Medical Center under the care of Ministry Hospice Care. Services will be at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, December 19, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Reverend John Grohs will officiate. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM and last until the time of services at the church on Wednesday. Carol was born March 13, 1936 in Kenosha to William and Lorraine (Gerdes) McCammond. She went to school in Appleton, Marinette, WI and Marquette, MI. Carol married Lawrence Carter, later ending in divorce. She married David Saeger in September 1988 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids. Always one to enjoy working and helping others, Carol worked for the Family Center and retiring from there only to return to work with the Job Center. Throughout her career, she did bookkeeping and office management. Carol always had a wonderful sense of humor and dearly loved all of her family. She delighted spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed giving her sons-in-law a hard time. Carol was an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan, requiring no interruptions during games. She also deeply loved her dog, watching birds from her kitchen window, and was known for her fantastic cooking and pie making ability. Survivors include her husband, David Saeger; son, Michael L. (Special Friend, Liz) Carter of Mosinee; daughters, Cathryn (Mike) Laszinski of Stevens Point, Karen (Mark) Williams of Sheboygan Falls and Colleen (Scott) Seemann of Colby; step-son, Glenn (Lynn) Saeger of Port Edwards; step-daughter, Kathy Kies of Hastings, MN; brother, Jim (Carol) McCammond of Beaverton, OR; 8 grandchildren, Tanya, Aaron, Tyler, Ryan, Craig, Emily, Jared and Mackenzie; 3 step-grandchildren, Lisa, Philip and Kenny; 5 great-grandchildren, Cody, Levi, Jordan, Gabriel and Tristan; and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband?s parents. The family extends a special word of thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Riverview Medical Center, the Riverview Cancer Center and Ministry Hospice for their kind and compassionate care for Carol and her family. The family would also like to thank Jean Cook for the over 40 year friendship with Carol. Jean, you will never know how much you have meant to Carol and how much she loved you. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Immanuel Church and School, 160 8th Street No., Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
