Obituary of Josephine Gardner

Josephine Ruth Gardner, 68, died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Arborview Court in Wisconsin Rapids. Private services were held at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home on Thursday, December 27th. Josephine was born in Wisconsin Rapids, on October 6, 1944 to Kenneth and Josephine (Steffek) Gardner. She never married. Josephine was employed by Riverview Medical Center in the Housekeeping Department. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wisconsin Rapids and of the Order of the Eastern Star. Josephine enjoyed going for walks, sewing and bird watching, especially cardinals. She also was an avid collector of stamps. Josephine is survived by two sisters: Audrey (David) Wittenberg, Wisconsin Rapids and Karen Johnson, Hopkins, MN; nieces and nephews: Kenn Gardner, Mike Gardner, Mark (Rhonda) Wittenberg, and their son, David, and Sara Wittenberg. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Frank. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Arborview Court for their exceptional care and concern for Josephine.
