Obituary of Ruth Hetzel

Ruth Ann Hetzel, 68, Wisconsin Rapids, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Strawberry Lane Medical and Rehabilitation Center. Services will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Ruth was born in Ashland, Wisconsin on July 9, 1944 to Phillip and Adeline (LeBel) Winslow. She married Donald Hetzel on October 16, 1971 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Bayfield, WI. Ruth was employed by WalMart in the bakery department until her disability. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Ruth loved to cook for her family and in her spare time she liked to go to garage sales, play card games and Bingo. Survivors include her husband, Don Hetzel; one son: Phillip (Darlene) Hetzel; one sister: Susan Winslow, all of Wisconsin Rapids; four step-grandchildren: Aubrey, Jake, Ben and Carly; 2 step-great-grandchildren: Sam and Carter; nieces and nephews; and in-laws: Ron (Bonnie) Hetzel, Junction City; Marlene Henke, Wisconsin Rapids; and Gerald (Wendy) Hetzel, Rudolph. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father- in- law, John and Leona Hetzel; niece, Karen Hetzel; and brother-in-law, Danny Henke. The family extends a special thank you to the staff members of Strawberry Lane and Ministry Home Care Hospice for their exceptional care and concern for Ruth.
