Robert married Anita Markworth in September 20, 1969 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner; they were blessed with two children Robyn and David. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc. for 45 years, retiring in 2000.
Robert was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and never passed up the opportunity to cheer for them at every sporting event or activity they were in. Robert was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner, where he served in various capacities over the years. Robert spent his summers outdoors tending to his flower gardens and taking meticulous care of his lawn. He enjoyed attending car shows, volunteering at the Orphan Grain Train, and walking miles in the mall. Robert was known for his easy smile, keen fashion sense and his flashy suits. He was a member of the American Legion Post 442, and is on the wall of honor at Aspirus Riverview Hospital for donating over 10 gallons of blood.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Anita, daughter Robyn (Michael) Plante and son David (Carrisa) Westfall; grandchildren: Austin and Aubree Plante, Isaiah and Kaari Westfall; sister Dorothy Zimmerman; sister-in-law Carla Brizzee and brother-in-law Richard Markworth as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
