Obituary of Garnet Tucker
Garnet Tucker, 75, Wisconsin Rapids, went home to be with her Lord early Friday, January 18, 2013 at her home surrounded by loving family under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 21 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. Rev. Kevin Ader will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 6:00 PM on Sunday, January 20 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Wisconsin Rapids, and at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the tile of services.
Garnet was born in Cataract, Wisconsin on October 19, 1937 to Lyle and Myrtle (Densmore) Griffin. She married Al Tucker on May 15, 1953 in Sparta.
Garnet was very active in St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner as a member of the Ladies Evening Guild and in Bible study.
Throughout their marriage, Garnet helped Al whenever and however she could. She loved everything about the farm life; gardening, (vegetables and flowers), canning, horseback riding, feeding the birds and taking care of her dogs. She also volunteered at the school, worked part time for Gilman?s Indian Hills Egg Ranch and seasonally at Figi?s.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always supportive of her family?s activities and enjoyed passing unto them the talents she possessed, like oil painting, sewing and horseback riding. Other interests of Garnet have included quilting, cake decorating, camping with her family, taking daily walks and dog grooming.
Survivors include her husband: Al Tucker, Wis. Rapids; children: Vicki (Mark) Matuschka, Warrens; Rod (Sherry) Tucker, Wis. Rapids; Jeanne (Jeff) Eggebrecht, Wis. Rapids; grandchildren: Jason Matuschka, Warrens, Mathew Matuschka, Black River Falls, Amanda Volkening, Hancock, Melissa Tucker, Hancock, Chad Tucker, Corporal, Marine Corps, Vista, CA., Dustin Eggebrecht, Wis. Rapids, Clayton Eggebrecht, Wis. Rapids, Dylan Eggebrecht, Sergeant, National Guard, Port Edwards, Garret Eggebrecht, Private, National Guard, Wis. Rapids; Great-grandchildren: Hailey Volkening, Hancock, Adeline Tucker, Hancock, Claira Tucker, Vista, CA, Emma Groshek, Wis. Rapids; siblings: Ramona Brzeczek, Tomah, Charlotte Gebhardt, Warrens, Carol Brown, Warrens, Christine Dunahee, Warrens, Dwight Griffin, Warrens, and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Doug Griffin, Donald Griffin and sister, Wanda Griffin.
