Obituary of William Heiser
William J. Heiser, Sr., 79, of 5649 Fisher Road, Town of Sigel, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Rev. Timothy Wenger will officiate. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 9. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Bill was born March 26, 1933 in the town of Sigel, Wood County, to John and Emma (Eichmann) Heiser. He married Janet Erdman on October 25, 1969 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
He served his country in the US Army Corps of Engineers from 1953-1955.
Bill was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc. as a draught operator at the Biron Division for 39 years.
Bill and Janet enjoyed farming in the town of Sigel. He loved to garden and shared his harvest with just about anyone who needed vegetables. Bill also enjoyed woodworking and crafted many bird houses, especially blue bird houses.
Bill is survived by his son, Robert (Heather) Heiser, and their two sons, Christopher and Brennen; his brother, Walter (Jay) Heiser, all of the Town of Sigel; and his sister, Ruth Moody of Nekoosa. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Raymond Moody.
