Obituary of Michael Calmes
Michael Elmer Calmes, 72, Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield.
Services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 5th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Father John Steiner will officiate. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post #9. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Michael was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on February 19, 1941 to Joseph and Marie (Lochen) Calmes. He married Lynette Denzine on March 19, 1965.
Michael was a self-employed truck driver who transported mail for the US Postal system.
He served his country in the Army from 1963 ? 1965.
Michael thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors chopping wood with Larry, snowmobiling, riding motorcycle or deer hunting. He also was mechanically inclined and loved to tinker with whatever needed fixing around the house.
Survivors include his wife: Lynette Calmes; daughter: Debra (Bruce) Hobart; son: Larry Calmes; grandchildren: Kelly and Alex Hobart; Rachel and Jason Calmes; siblings: Jim Calmes; Joseph Calmes; Richard (Rita) Calmes; Robert (Verneil) Calmes; Ruth (Tony) Brodjeski; Delores (Ken) Wolf; brother-in-law: Ronald Listle; mother and father-in-law: Delbert and Alma Denzine; extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Carole Listle; and sister-in-law: Geneva Calmes.
