Obituary of Lawrence Truchinski

Lawrence Emil Truchinski, 86, Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Wisconsin Rapids Nursing & Rehab Center. Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 16th at First Congregational-United Church of Christ. Rev. Paul Veldman will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of services on Saturday at the church. Larry was born in Wisconsin Rapids on June 27, 1926 to Emil and Esther (Goehring) Truchinski. He married Lois Elaine Lee on March 17, 1951 at the First Congregational Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Larry served his country in the US Army 40th Division during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1952. His passion was airplanes. He loved flying, working on planes, was very active in the pilots club in Wisconsin Rapids, and created artwork (cartoons) for the flying club newsletter. Larry was an Airline Transport pilot and instructor for years. He also had his aircraft and engine inspector ratings. For a time he went around the state inspecting small aircraft for their annual licensing for the FAA. Then due to health problems he changed his livelihood to working for Hoogesteger Homes for many years and then building homes in this area on his own. Survivors include his wife of 62 years: Lois; 2 sons: Larry (Sandy) Truchinski of Wis. Rapids; William Truchinski of Chicago, IL; 2 daughters: Laura Marti of Nekoosa, WI; Linda (Raymond) Reas of Wis. Rapids 3 grandchildren: Cherity (David) Ysquierdo of Mercedes, TX; Anna Truchinski of Wis Rapids, James Truchinski of Wis. Rapids; 4 great-grandchildren: Cienna ?Mkous-kwe? and Quiana ?Wabschgon-kote? Young, and Izabella and David Ysquiredo all of Mercedes, TX; two brothers: Roland Truchinski of Stratford, WI; Richard Truchinski of Adelanto, CA; two sisters: Violet Estkowski of Los Altos, CA; Jeanette Harmel of Indianopolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eva Kissner. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the family with arrangements.
