Obituary of Victor Hayter
Victor Levi Hayter, 92, Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Riverview Hospital.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 16th at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church, followed with Military Rites provided by VFW Post #2534. Rev. James Douglas will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in LaValle, Wisconsin.
Victor was born in LaFarge, Wisconsin on October 10, 1920 to Lem and Laura (Hart) Hayter. He married Joyce Webster on October 11, 1947 in LaValle, Wisconsin. She died on July 30, 2009.
Victor was a loyal employee for Consolidated Papers, Inc. for over 30 years in the janitorial department.
He served his country in the Army during World War II, having the privilege of landing on Omaha Beach on D-Day.
Victor was a hard working, good providing man who enjoyed his spare time as much as his work. He loved taking his family sightseeing on road trips to attractions in Niagara Falls, a vineyard in New York, Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore in South Dakota and Kentucky, just to name a few. He also enjoyed trout fishing, bird hunting (especially pheasants), watching the Green Bay Packers, and being with his dogs, Porsche and Snuggles.
Survivors include two daughters: Linda Hayter, and Laura (David) Crowns; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers: Pearl, Bill, Clarence (Clara), Virgil (ex-wife, Stella), Clark; sisters: Violet Hayter, Verna Conley, and Vivian Clark.
