Obituary of Thomas McGrath

Thomas F. McGrath, 71, Wisconsin Rapids died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at his home. Services will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Dennis Fink will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of services at the funeral home. Tom was born July 1, 1941 in Wisconsin Rapids to Alex and Lucille (Sparks) McGrath. He attended Grove Wood County Normal School. Tom married Judy McChesney on January 13, 1970 in Wisconsin Rapids. Tom served in the US Army and later worked in the Delivery Department with Consolidated Papers Inc. for over 30 years until retirement. Tom was a good husband and father, always willing to give to others and help those in need. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers play. Tom?s greatest joy was playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and telling them stories about his younger days. Survivors include his beloved wife, Judy; daughter, Tamie (Patrick) Laczkowski; grandchildren, Matthew, Allen (Echo) and Tyler Brandt, Christina and Kaitlin Livernash; step-grandchildren, Joshua, April and Dillon Shearier; great-grandchildren, Teigun and Kydin Brandt and Kylee Butler; brother, Dale McGrath; sisters, Kathy (Robert) Lee and Marge Tillton and nephew, Kevin Lee who Tom helped to raise. He is preceded in death by his parents, step-son, Allen Webb; brothers, Jim, Jack, Jerry and Bob and sisters, Judy and Gloria. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the family.
