Obituary of Alice Rodock
Alice D. (Ropella) Rodock, 88, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 23rd at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial will be at a later date in Plainfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Alice was born May 20, 1924 in Stevens Point to Leon and Cecelia (Iveson) Ropella. She married Earl K. Rodock on June 26, 1943 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The couple was blessed with 68 years of marriage.
She spent most of her life as a homemaker, and was also a great seamstress who could sew just about anything.
Alice was a wonderful, loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Family meant everything and she always had time to listen.
After Earl?s retirement, Alice and Earl did a lot of traveling and wintered in Florida, Texas, and Arizona. She also loved going to the casino.
Alice is survived by her husband, Earl; a daughter, Florence (Alfred) Bretl, three sons: Earl Jr. (Sandy) Rodock, Daniel Rodock, and Carl (Gail) Rodock, all from Wisconsin Rapids as well as six grandchildren: Shelby (Jim) Ironside, Amy (Lonnie) Ubinger, Lisa (Ryan) Tollefson, Travis (Dana) Rodock, Mathew (Sara) Rodock, and Nathan Rodock, and three great-grandchildren: Riley and Lindsey Ubinger and Olivia Tollefson. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters: Edna Wendt, Teresa Beggs, Ruth Casey, and Pearl McKinley, and three brothers: Jerome, Harold, and Maynard Ropella.
