Obituary of Donald Wolf

Donald A. Wolf, 59, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013 due to a courageous battle with sarcoma cancer at the House of the Dove in Marshfield. Don was born on August 6, 1953 in Wisconsin Rapids to Albert and Dorothy (Garbrecht) Wolf. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1971, attended UWSP and graduated from UW River Falls in 1975. He also completed the Mid-State Technical College apprentice millwright program. Don was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc., and later Stora-Enso and New Page as a journeyman millwright and retired in July 2012 after 36 years of employment. He was a member of Machinists Local 655. Don was united in marriage to Maxine Wroblewski on September 10, 1977, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point. The couple was blessed with the birth of one daughter, Jessica. Don had a love for the outdoors and especially loved to hunt. He went on numerous hunting adventures to the Dakota?s and to Wyoming in pursuit of a variety of game. He also enjoyed duck hunting with his black, Squeak. As an outdoorsman, Don had a true passion and respect for wildlife and enjoyed watching deer and other wildlife in his backyard through the window of his home even during his final days. Don was also an avid NASCAR racing fan and was able to enjoy many NASCAR trips with Maxine and others. Don is survived by his loving wife, Maxine and daughter, Jessica (Brian) Klement, both of Wisconsin Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Dorothy, sister, Joyce, and brother, Ronald. A Celebration of Life service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Don?s name. The family extends their sincere appreciation for the compassion and excellent care given for Don. A special ?thank you? to Dr. Garde, UW Madison Hospital, Marshfield Clinic, UW Cancer Center, Riverview Hospital and Wound Healing Center, Ministry Home Care and Hospice, the House of the Dove, and all of the special friends and family that helped during this difficult time. The compassion, love and support provided to Don and the family was immeasurable. ?We think of you in silence and speak your name often. All we have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake with which we?ll never part. God has you in his keeping, but we have you in our hearts.? Don?t cry because he?s gone-smile because he was here.
