Obituary of Elisabeth Nuber

Elisabeth Anna Nuber, 87, Wisconsin Rapids, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Wisconsin Rapids Nursing and Rehab Center in Wisconsin Rapids under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. Elisabeth was born March 28, 1926 in Hötzingen, Soltau, Germany to Herman and Marie Wihelmine (Meyer) Bargfrede. She married Wilhelm Freidrich Nuber on November 14, 1948 in Emmingen, Germany before immigrating to the United States in 1951. Elisabeth and Wilhelm began dairy farming, and as their children grew the family worked together on the farm. She enjoyed caring for the many baby animals and spending time in her garden. Elisabeth is survived by her loving children, Wilhelm Nuber Jr., Roger (Bonnie) Nuber, Elisabeth Galloway and Magdalena (Jim) LaBarge; grandchildren, Julie Ward, Nicholas Nuber, Katrina Nuber, Barbara LaBarge and Natasha LaBarge; great-grandchildren, Lillian Ward, Marcus and Aria Chialda; siblings, Herman Bargfrede and Wihelmine Bargfrede-Nehring; and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Wilhelm Nuber Sr.; parents, and siblings, Gerhardt, Martha, Gertrude and Hannah Bargfrede. Private family services were held. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the family.
