Obituary of Pauline Haskins
Pauline Edith Haskins, 88, Wisconsin Rapids, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 27th, at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Wisconsin Rapids. Reverend Martin Bauer will be officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home until the time of services.
Pauline was born August 19, 1924 at her grandfather Giese?s home on Nepco Lake, Wisconsin Rapids to William and Anna (Giese) Bonow. She is a graduate of Lincoln High School. Pauline married Spencer V. Haskins on June 5, 1947 at St. Paul?s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids, celebrating 50 years together prior to Spencer?s death on October 11, 1997.
Pauline worked for the Wood County Telephone Company as a Telephone Operator for over 10 years before her and Spencer were partners in the House of Suzanne Rock Shop in the 1970?s. The years that followed saw Pauline devote her life to serving her community at the Lowell Center and being very active with the Children?s Miracle Network. Her free time often found Pauline working on a craft project either knitting or crocheting or in the kitchen baking tasty treats for family and friends.
She was a devoted member of St. Paul?s Evangelical Lutheran Church for over 60 years.
Pauline is survived by her loving children, Guy (Connie) Haskins of Bend, OR, Pat (Randy) DeBoer of Wisconsin Rapids and Steve Haskins of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren, Lara Haskins, John (Tammy) Haskins, Nova Haskins, Spencer Haskins, Ira (Krysta) DeBoer and Betsy Feaster; great-grandchildren, Cody Haskins, Samantha Roeling, Ashley Haskins, Tyler Haskins, Alison Haskins, Chance Haskins, Josh Clark, Jade Haskins, Jazmine Haskins, Tira Carbiener and Wyatt Feaster; sisters-in-law, Kay Bonow, Blanche Haskins and Hope South; brother-in-law, Jim Orta; dear friends, Robert, Arlene and Karen Falk, Scott Kowalski and Sheryl Haskins and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Spencer Haskins; brothers, Gus, Fred and Herbert Bonow; sister, Rosalie Clark and grandson, Joe Feaster.
