Obituary of Pearl Charvat

Pearl Charvat, 89, Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Pine Ridge Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids under the care of Heartland Hospice. At Pearl?s wishes, there will be no services. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the family with arrangements. Pearl was born in Chicago, IL. on September 1, 1923 to Walter and Clara (Golles) Meyer. She married George J. Charvat April 3, 1948 at Trinity Church in Chicago, IL. Pearl and George lived in North Riverside and Lemont, IL, prior to moving to Wisconsin Rapids. Pearl enjoyed weekends at her parents? house in Lake Geneva, and annual fishing vacations to Windmill Resort, Siren, WI. She loved walking in the woods with her dogs and cutting wood with George. Pearl was a phenomenal cook and loved spending time with family, friends, and neighbors, being a caregiver to others and especially loving her pets. There wasn?t a crossword puzzle that could beat her. Also, she couldn?t wait for weekend Packer and Badger games. Pearl is survived by daughters, Kimberly (Patrick) Jirschele, Wisconsin Rapids and Debbie (Darol) Tessler, Oregon, IL.; nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friend ?Pep?. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Eleanor, and beloved dog, Barkley. Pearl?s family would like to thank the Pine Ridge Assisted Living staff for the wonderful care given to her, Riverview Medical Center, Heartland Hospice staff members and to other facilities who have cared for her over the past 2 years.
