Obituary of Elwood Finup

View the image gallery -- View a Video -- Celebrating The Life Of Elwood Finup Elwood A. Finup, 60, Town of Saratoga, died early Sunday April 28, 2013 at Riverview Medical Center, Wisconsin Rapids. A memorial service will be at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Wisconsin Rapids. Reverend Robert Buckman will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Elwood was born September 4, 1952 in Wisconsin Rapids to Arthur and Laura (Marks) Finup. He is a 1970 graduate of Lincoln High School. Elwood married Vicky Curtin in 1971 at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church, Seneca Corners. He worked hard to provide for his family as a sheet operator for New Page. Elwood dearly loved his children and later grandchildren and would do whatever he could for them. Elwood?s greatest passion in life was his deer farm that he began in 1998. He was very proud of how the herd quality has grown over the years, and was a devoted member of Whitetails of Wisconsin. For years, Elwood would head out west to Montana or Wyoming to go mule deer hunting, often times with his son, Dan. Elwood?s free time often found him dehorning cattle, working on puzzles, cutting wood and making log furniture. Elwood is survived by his wife, Vicky Finup; children, Jenny (Scott) Domke of Wisconsin Rapids and Dan (Kelly) Finup of Wisconsin Dells; grandchildren, Cheyanne (Chase Robinson) Finup, Danica Finup, Logan Domke and Keaton Finup; special nephew, Eddie (Jill) Finup and his family, Eden and Ely; brother, Delbert (Hazel) Finup; faithful dog, Ruger; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Emery (Georgeanna) Finup; niece, Laura Finup and nephew, Michael Finup.
