Obituary of Joshua Sonheim

Joshua Paul Sonheim, 28, Wisconsin Rapids, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Memorial services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Joshua was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on July 5, 1984 to Gerald Hopp and Donna Sonheim. He married Kristin Gildenzoph on May 31, 2008 in Wisconsin Rapids. Joshua graduated from Whitewater High School in 2002 and joined the National Guards. He served two tours in Iraq. He was a member of the 120th and 32nd Brigade from September of 2002 until present. He was a big hearted man with a big smile, who loved his children. In his spare time you could find him playing video or yard games. Joshua was proud and honored to serve his country. Survivors include: wife, Kristin; two children: Jacob and Aliza; parents: Donna and Allen Ames; siblings: Benjamin, Vickie, Cecelia; mother and father-in-law: Cindy and Douglas Gildenzoph; brother and sister-in-law: Holly, Elisabeth (Brian), Daniel, Laura, Sarah, Kathrine, Michael; extended family and friends; maternal grandmother: Gladys Heelein. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Hopp; grandfather, Frank Heelein; brother-in-law, Brian Gildenzoph.
