Obituary of Leonard Kruger
Leonard E. Kruger, 71, Wisconsin Rapids, died early Friday morning, June 21, 2013 at Ministry Saint Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 26th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Visitation will be from 4PM to 7PM on Tuesday, June 25th and from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Leonard was born in rural Wood County, Wisconsin on March 7, 1942 to Walter and Anita (Zager) Kruger. He married Catherine Ellis on November 30, 1963 at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
Leonard started his career working for the city of Wisconsin Rapids in 1965 as a truck driver, retiring as a dozer operator in 2004.
Leonard loved hunting, camping, NASCAR races, watching WWE wrestling with his grandson and playing slots at the casino. He also was an avid gardener and bird watcher.
Survivors include wife: Catherine; two sons: Brian Kruger and Bradd (Doreen) Kruger, all of Wisconsin Rapids; daughter: Jenny (Jody) Nelson, Hudson, WI; grandson: Cole Leonard Nelson; two brothers: Lewis (Pat) Kruger; Leland Kruger, all of Wisconsin Rapids; three sisters: Myra Schweis; Rita (Leonard) Kluck; and Linda Kuhn, all of Wisconsin Rapids. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Millie Winkels and Violet Kruger.
