Obituary of Fern Krohn
Fern Marie Krohn, 72, Town of Saratoga, died Monday, July 1, 2013 at Ministry Saint Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 10th at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. John Grohs will officiate. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery in the Town of Saratoga. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the church.
Fern was born in Wood County, Wisconsin on July 4, 1940 to Almer and Ella (Burt) Bolster. She was raised on Cary Bluff. On August 1, 1959, Fern married Jerry Krohn. He died on December 24, 1999.
Fern worked for Sunspiced Potatoes in Plover, Wisconsin until her retirement after 23 years of employment.
She served in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and worked on the Wisconsin Rapids parade committee.
Fern had a great love for her family and friends. She always kept an open door, an open heart, and a delicious meal for whoever came in the door. She was a foster parent for several years, changing the lives of many children under her care.
Survivors include her seven children: Richard (Shirley Brown), Mark (Teresa) Krohn, Kaye Bollinger, Michael, Kerry (Rodney) Calmes, Debra (Michael Burch), Pamela Krohn; grandchildren: Joshua (Cheryl) Krohn, Justen (Cindy) Krohn, Jason (Jessica), Brittney (Jeremy) Hunter, Chad Bollinger, Sierra Krohn, Saige Krohn, Raven Krohn, Sabrina Krohn, Hawk Krohn, Angel Gukenberger, Austin Gukenberger, Tanisha Gukenberger, Heather Brown; her sisters: Dorla (Robert) Hinrichsen, Jean (Dean) Irwin, and Delores Randall; special friends: Lori Schroepfer, Marilyn (Donny) Gilson; five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, brother Edwin, mother Ella, and father Almer.
