Obituary of Gilbert C. Plantico

Gilbert Charles Plantico, age 92, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 at The Waterford Assisted living facility. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Mary Lou Plummer will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Gilbert was born on January 24, 1924 to George and Marie (Robertson) Plantico in the Town of Withee. He married Anna A. Strasky on January 8, 1972 at the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church. Gilbert was employed by the City of Wisconsin Rapids at the City Garage for many years until his retirement. Gilbert was a longtime member of the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church. He loved polka music and dancing. He was a member of the Senior Citizens Club. Gilbert is survived by his sister Margie Miller of Burnsville, MN and sister-in-law Mabel Miller (Dennis Polach) all of Wisconsin Rapids. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Anna, parents and siblings: Edna Reyzor, Elroy and Leo Plantico. Memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church.
