Obituary of Charlotte Peterson
Charlotte Peterson, age 94, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Wellington Place in Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 29, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 until the time of services. Pastor Timothy Ritter will officiate.
Charlotte was born February 14, 1919 in Nekoosa to John and Lena (Schultz) Regan. Soon after Charlotte?s birth the family moved to Wisconsin Rapids. Charlotte received her elementary education at Immanuel Lutheran School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1937. After graduation she worked at the Paper Board division of Consolidated Papers in Wisconsin Rapids until her marriage to Reynolds (Pete) Peterson on July 18, 1942. Reynolds died on December 15, 1984.
Charlotte was a homemaker and a devoted mother to her disabled son Reynolds Rance (Randy), caring for him for the first 36 years of his life. The care and love she gave to him was unconditional. They shared a special bond.
Later in life, Charlotte continued to show that caring spirit when she became a volunteer at Edgewater Haven in Port Edwards. She also enjoyed her time as a volunteer with the Association for All Handicapped Citizens. She was a member of the Pine Grove Homemakers and enjoyed the monthly meetings and the lunches with the ladies.
Charlotte is survived by her niece, Elray ?Mitzi? (Ron) Feutz of Wisconsin Rapids, a nephew, Ed (Helen) Moberg of the Town of Port Edwards, great-nephews, Christian (Angie) Feutz and Nathan Feutz, both of Wisconsin Rapids, and one great-grandniece, Regan Augustine Feutz, of Wisconsin Rapids.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Reynolds, her son Randy, her sister Eleanore Moberg, and two brothers, Edwin Regan and Bernard Regan.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wellington Place for the excellent care given to Charlotte over the past three months. Also, a special thank you to Roy (Poncho) Schoechert for all the help he gave Charlotte over the years.
