Obituary of Alan Hemmingson

Alan D. Hemmingson, 62, of Wisconsin Rapids died of cancer complications on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Riverview Hospital surrounded by his family. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20th from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A celebration of life gathering will also be held at a later date. Alan was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 3, 1951 to Charles Ross and Phyllis (Gustafson) Hemmingson. He married Shirley Tubbs on September 16, 1972. Alan was employed in the plumbing trades for over 40 years. He loved the game of football and would not miss watching a single Packer game. Wednesdays were truck nights when family and friends helped Alan completely restore a 1950 Ford F1 PU that he was able to drive in the annual car cruise a few weeks ago. Al is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Chad (Tonia) Hemmingson; daughter, Cari Hemmingson; mother, Phyllis Hemmingson; brother, Mayo Hemmingson; sister, Candace Hemmingson; five grandchildren: Isaiah, Taylor, Mia, Kiley, and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ross Hemmingson, and brother, Chuck Hemmingson. Al was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed.
