Obituary of Howard Schuetz
Howard James Schuetz, 79, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Sunday morning, August 18, 2013 at Our House Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Milladore. Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Howard was born in Wisconsin Rapids on August 6, 1934 to Stephen and Velma (Sering) Schuetz. He graduated from Lincoln High School. He married Alice Brandl on February 20, 1954 in Wisconsin Rapids. The couple was blessed with 59 years of marriage and two children.
Howard was employed as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He was a proud member of International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 139 for 23 years.
Howard was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, loved the outdoors, and especially enjoyed deer hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; two children: John Schuetz and Diane Schuetz; brother, Gordon Schuetz; and special friend, William R. Morehouse. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leonard Schuetz and Richard Schuetz; one sister, Elaine Schuetz; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Schuetz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Opportunity Development Center, Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids.
The family extends a special thank you for the compassionate care provided by all staff at Our House Assisted Living, especially Maria Dolph, Tammy Lukomski, and Benita Hughes. Also, appreciation is extended to the staff of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice who supported Howard. The family would also like to thank Elaine Bushmaker, Joyce Radtke, and Kay Oesterreicher for all of their loving care and concern for Howard and his family.
