Obituary of Kevin Mitchell Turbin

Kevin Mitchell Turbin, age 54, of Wisconsin Rapids, entered into eternal life on Monday, July 4, 2016 with his loving mother at his side, at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Forest Hill Mausoleum in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. John Grohs will officiate. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is assisting the family. Kevin was born on March 20, 1962 in Wisconsin Rapids to Chester and Rosalie (Russo) Turbin. Kevin was employed by Opportunity Development Centers in Wisconsin Rapids for many years. Kevin was an avid animal lover; he loved taking dogs from the South Wood County Humane Society for walks. He enjoyed listening to polka music. Kevin was thrilled when he took his first flight over Wisconsin Rapids. During the summer he enjoyed going to various summer camps including the Lion's Camp, Badger Camp, and the Winnebago Little Chief Camp. Kevin will be greatly missed by his mother Rosalie, sisters: Marlene (Kent) Turbin Weldon and Beverly (Jon) Maakestad; niece Maria Maakestad and nephew Benjamin Maakestad and a great-niece Lyla; many beloved cousins, special friend John Schlaefer and all of his friends at Aurora Group Home. He was preceded in death by his father Chester Turbin. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Kevin's honor to the South Wood County Humane Society. Kevin's family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Bethel Nursing Home in Arpin, as well as the staff of the St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Marshfield.
