Obituary of Emil Taschner
Emil ?Tom? Taschner, 75, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, September 16th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Timothy Wenger will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
Tom was born October 2, 1937 in Wisconsin Rapids to Emil and Mildred (Davis) Taschner. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957. Tom married Betty Lou Swartout on June 19, 1965 in Wisconsin Rapids. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2008.
Tom worked for Consolidated Papers Inc. in the beater department at the Wisconsin Rapids Division for 44 years.
After retirement, Tom enjoyed spending time at McDonald?s restaurant in Wisconsin Rapids, conversing with store patrons and drawing.
Tom is survived by one daughter, Mariah (Mickey) Olesnavage of Weston, West Virginia; one granddaughter, Anna Olesnavage; one grandson, Aderian Olesnavage; one half-brother, Orville Barton of Wisconsin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John (Joyce) Swartout of Wisconsin Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty Lou, half-brothers: Harvey, Walter, Edward, and Marvin Taschner, and half-sisters: Laura Penell and Edna Schmidt.
