The the entire Vruwink family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I met Ron once at a campaign party three years or so ago and thought Ron was a very nice man. He was tough, a real fighter. I pray that his struggles will be an inspiration for all that are fighting serious illnesses to carry a positive attitude and put it in God's hands.

I have fond memories of visiting the Vruwink farm and being teased and teasing Ron. In later years, I would see him at St. Phillips or in passing at some other event. He always had a kind word and a wonderful smile. Ron has been in my prayers and I will continue to pray for the entire Vruwink family. Life is so short and you have had so much to deal with. My God help you find comfort and bring some smiles to your faces as you remember the good times.

Though I did not know Ron personally, I knew he courageously battled a disease that has been all too common in the family. I was pastor for many years to Ed and Shirley Vruwink and friend of Amy Sue and political supporter (unfortunately I was redistricted into #69). May you be comforted in the knowledge that nothing, not even death, can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

The Vruwink family, you have my deepest sympathy for the loss of a very special man, your son, father, and brother. I will always remember Ron as having a huge and kind heart. He was such a hard worker and I will miss his many visits that I enjoyed so much. His smile was contagious and made it known how much his family and friends meant to him. May your memories help you get through this very difficult time. Rest in peace Ron.

When two lives touch one another, a part of each life is inter-twined with the other, a friendship is established and knowledge is exchanged. Through the rest of our lives we use that knowledge. Life is full of twists and turns and I was lucky enough to have made the turn that brought me to meet Ron. For the past 30 years I have known him, he has always brought a smile to my face and a laugh in my heart. Thanks Ron for the friendship!

We waited for Ron's visits with hopeful, but cautious anticipation over the last couple of years. We always hoped for the best and feared the worse. What a courageous warrior. We shared so many wonderful conversations, and during his toughest times, he had concern & compassion for others. Ron saw that his promise to keep us informed was kept, and for that we are grateful. It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye, and our thoughts are with Ron's family and many friends. Rest my friend, you've earned it, and it's good to know we have another kind soul watching over us all. God Speed Ron.
