Obituary of Shirley Deutsch

Shirley Marie Deutsch, age 88, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Friday, October 4, 2013 at House of the Dove in Marshfield. Shirley was born in Strawn, Illinois on October 16, 1924 to Frederick and Elsie (Wallenstein) Stein. She grew up on a farm in Strawn, raising hogs, beef and chickens. After graduating high school, Shirley went to business college in Kankakee, Illinois, majoring in accounting. She married Reinhart Deutsch on October 25, 1947 in Ashby, Minnesota. Shirley worked at NSP in Ashland, Wisconsin and retired in 1988. She also farmed and did other various jobs with her husband, Reinhart. After retirement, Shirley and Reinhart moved to Wisconsin Rapids to be closer to their children. Reinhart died on October 30, 2005. Shirley is survived by three children: Jennifer (Charles) Fane, Nekoosa; Michael (Linda) Deutsch, Bloomington, Minnesota; and Mark (Theresa) Deutsch, Spring Green, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Yvonne (James) Harris of Normal, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson, Jason. Private family services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Joshua Fite will officiate. Entombment will be in the Forest Hill Mausoleum. Memorials may be designated to House of the Dove in Marshfield.
