Obituary of Robert Hollar
Robert ?Bobby? Frank Hollar, age 68, Town of Sherry, died unexpectedly Friday, October 25, 2013 at his residence.
Bob was born August 29, 1945 in Milwaukee to Frank and Dorothy (Weinfurter) Hollar. He attended St. Killian?s Grade School and graduated from Auburndale High School in 1964. Bob then went on to work for Frank Hollar and Sons Trucking. He also worked as a welder for Marshfield Homes from 1969-1970, when he and his brother Roger took over the family business and operated it as Hollar Brothers Trucking. Bob also farmed in the Town of Sherry.
Bob was very mechanically inclined and loved to tinker with old equipment. He especially loved International 190s. Many of the local farmers in the area would call on Bob to fix tractors and do various welding jobs. Bob was very close to his group of friends and would have daily phone conversations with them. Bob also made close friends with many of the area Amish families. He had a love of animals and especially enjoyed the many pet dogs he had over the years.
Bob is survived by his brother, Roger Hollar, Town of Sherry; his sister, Joyce (Roger) Hollar-Flaig, Junction City; one aunt, Loretta Hahn, Pittsville; two uncles: Donald Hahn, Pittsville and Harvey Krings, Hewitt; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore. Rev. John Ofori-Domah and Rev. Peter Raj will officiate. Jerry Aschenbrenner, Dennis Krings, Dennis Fuehrer, Jerry Skrzeczkoski, Dave Weinfurter, Jack Hahn, and John Hollar will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. ? 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 29th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, 2201 Chestnut Street, Wisconsin Rapids, and from 10:00 A.M. until the time services on Wednesday at the church.
