Obituary of Roger Moore
Roger Elliot Moore, 76, Wisconsin Rapids, died Monday, October 28, 2013 at Riverview Hospital.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 31st at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
Roger was born in Wisconsin Rapids on March 31, 1937 to Glen and Eola (Winger) Moore.
After graduating from Lincoln High in 1956, Roger started his career as a tool and die maker for Preway, Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids right out of high school. Later he moved to Seattle, Washington and worked for Boeing Aircraft. Roger married Portia Holt on April 9, 1971. Life brought them to Necedah, Wisconsin where he worked for Farnam Industries, and retired from Necedah Screw Machine Products.
Roger was mechanically inclined and had the ability to fix anything. He was an EMT and firefighter for Necedah for many years. Roger was a walking encyclopedia on birds, animals, plants, flowers, and everything outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, and shoot trap. WWII history, airplanes, and the History Channel were some of his passions.
Survivors include three sons: Roger Moore Jr., Spokane, WA; Monty (Sherry) Moore, Nashville, TN; and Bradley ?Skeez? (Heather) Moore, Necedah, WI; three daughters: Debbie George, Lake Stevens, WA; Terrie Colvin, Spokane, WA; and Melody (Bob) Holsten, Everett, WA; two brothers: Glenn Moore, King, WI; Benjamin (Shirley) Moore, Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters: Eola Timm, and Mary Apfelbeck, both of Wisconsin Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, and first son, Michael.
