Obituary of Helen Gansch

Helen Dorothy Gansch, 89, Wisconsin Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Strawberry Lane Medical & Rehabilitation Center with her loving family by her side. Services will be at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 16th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vesper. Rev. Douglas Schalow will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Hansen. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the church. Helen was born in Arpin, Wisconsin on December 9, 1923 to John and Ella (Feldt) Horn. She married Herman Gansch on February 19, 1946 in Pittsville, WI. He died on October 26, 1991. Helen worked beside her husband Herman on their dairy farm in Vesper for 44 years. They raised their family on the farm and remained there until their retirement in 1990 when they moved to Wisconsin Rapids. Helen enjoyed listening to and dancing with Herman to polka music. Survivors include her children: Dennis (Heidi) Gansch, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Rose (John) Matravers, Oconto, WI; grandchildren: Lindsay (Eric) Ewan, Louisville, KY; Travis (Jill Carlson) Gansch, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Larry (Sandy) Gansch, Altoona, IA; Kari Gansch, Kiel, WI; Michelle (Robert) Van Kirk, Fond du lac, WI; Amy (Tucker) Roberts, Neenah, WI; eight great-grandchildren: Ryan and Sarah Gansch; Austin and Hannah Steinke; Bobby and Jackson Van Kirk; Nora Ewan; and Colin Roberts; two sisters-in-law: Marge Gansch, Vesper, WI and Lorraine Gansch, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; four sons: David, Roger, Edward and Wallace Gansch; four sisters: Leona (Lynn) Vanderwalker, Irma (Herman) Kummer, Doris (Carl) Karloske, and Elsie (Irvin) Hendrickson. Memorials may be designated to Trinity Lutheran Church, 6412 Michigan St. So., Vesper, WI 54489. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and cna?s that gave exceptional care and concern for Helen (Grandma) for the last 2 ½ years.
