Obituary of Floyd Alan Holtz

Floyd Alan Holtz, 69, Pittsville, WI, died Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Ministry Saint Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield. Services will be at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, November 15th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Douglas Schalow will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Floyd was born in Wisconsin Rapids on December 27, 1943 to Leslie and Margaret (Femling) Holtz and he was raised on the family farm in Vesper. He married Janet Lubeck on May 7, 1966. The marriage ended in divorce. Floyd was employed by GM in Janesville, WI, then moved back to Wisconsin Rapids and worked for Preway, Inc. until they closed. He then continued his working career as a self employed handyman. Floyd loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed being outdoors, farming, and had a deep love and respect for animals. He also was an avid hunter (deer hunting was his favorite), and enjoyed going fishing up north. Survivors include his special friend Jackie Vaningan; daughter: Dawn (Kevin) Fuller, Wisconsin Rapids; son: Michael Holtz, Texas; three grandchildren: Joshua Holtz, Brayden, and Rayna Robison; five siblings: Lois Gellerman, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Victor (Mary) Holtz, Rudolph, WI; Dorothy (Werner) Berger, Kenosha, WI; Gary (Bonnie) Holtz, Vesper, WI; and Suzanne (Ronald) Flynn, Arizona; and sister-in-law: Bertha Holtz, Florida. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Keith, Wendell, and Loyal and one sister, Neva.
