Obituary of Chung Wong

Chung Chun Wong, age 87, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Ministry Saint Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield. Visitation will be at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 24, 2013. Burial will be at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery. Chung was born in Amoy, China on September 22, 1926 to Yok Kie Oei and Boon Tak Yap. He graduated from college in China with a law degree. Chung married Alice Chiang on July 24, 1949 in Hong Kong. Chung owned and operated a banking business in China before moving to Hong Kong and Malaysia where he operated an oil manufacturing company. He moved his family to the United States in 1978, residing in the state of Washington for several years before moving to the Wisconsin Rapids area. Survivors include his wife: Alice Wong, Wisconsin Rapids; daughter; Dr. Khadijah Ahmad, Wisconsin Rapids; two sons: Anthony (Li Huang) Wong, Washington State; Daniel (Helen) Wong, California and their children: Adeline and Aaron; adopted daughter: Lena Wong, Wisconsin Rapids; three brothers; and four sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers. Memorials may be designated to the American Heart Association.
