Obituary of Curtis Oleson
Curtis (Curt) Oleson passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards, WI.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 30th at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. Rev. Kevin Ader will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Friday, November 29th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the church.
Curtis was a member of International Association BSO & R Ironworkers for 49 years, working in many states.
Curt was born in Nekoosa, WI on March 18, 1939 to Marvin and Valeria (Stamm) Oleson. He married the love of his life Marion B. Raasch and they spent 54 blessed years together.
Curt loved traveling, camping, hunting, and fishing. He was a fair sport at bowling, shooting pool, pitching horse shoes, and golfing. He enjoyed the Brewers but he dearly loved the Green Bay Packers.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Marion, Wisconsin Rapids; daughter: Jewell Schleizer (Ken Trunk), Coloma, WI; son: Darrell Oleson, Plainfield, WI; brothers: Wesley (Carol), Arpin, WI; Dan (Lavon), Pittsville, WI; sisters: Maureen (Herb) Carlson and Donna (Ken) Winters, Nekoosa, WI; brother-in-law: Neal Hamann; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sons Dennis Del and Lyle Curtis, grandsons Matt and Paul Schleizer and his sister, LaVera Hamann.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the caring individuals at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home and Ministry Home Care Hospice Services for their outstanding care of Curtis, and all who visited and prayed for him. Thank you to Pastor Kevin Ader for his visits and prayers.
