Obituary of Dorothy Engstrand

Dorothy V. (Ronnbeck) Engstrand, age 90, of Wisconsin Rapids, entered Heaven on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Harmony House, Wisconsin Rapids. Dorothy was born February 28, 1923 in Chicago, IL, where she lived until her parents Isaac and Lilly (Johnson) Ronnbeck moved to Wausau, WI. It was in Wausau that Dorothy met her husband, Carl Engstrand, and the two were married September 21, 1946 in Wausau. She is survived by all her children: Karen (Jerry) Dale of El Sobrante, CA, Harold (Becky) Engstrand of Rudolph, and Ken (Indra) Engstrand, Marlene (Daniel) Wolosek, and Sharon Hansen all of Wisconsin Rapids, plus 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters, Helen Hedlund of Oak Lawn, IL and Lois Wetzel of Carol Stream, IL. Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 58 years, Carl Engstrand, her parents, brothers, John Ronnbeck, Walter Ronnbeck, and Roy Ronnbeck, sisters, Gladys Hall and Esther Peel, and son-in-law, Mike Hansen. Dorothy dedicated her time as a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time playing the piano in her home, church, Sunday school and vacation Bible school. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Dean Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Life Fellowship, Port Edwards, Wisconsin.
