Obituary of Charlene Johnson
Charlene Johnson, age 74, of Wisconsin Rapids, died suddenly, Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Appleton, Wisconsin.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. David Kurek will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the memorial service on Tuesday. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net.
Charlene was born April 5, 1942 in Royal, Nebraska to Ralph and Laura (Morley) Johnson. She attended school in both Royal, Nebraska and Onamia, Minnesota. After graduating from high school, Charlene earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Cloud State College. She worked as a teacher, civil servant, and nursing assistant before becoming a registered nurse. Charlene loved her family, which included one sister, six brothers, their spouses, and their children. She was a devout Christian, who found joy and comfort in her faith. Charlene loved to share her love of Christ with others, through study and fellowship.
Survivors include her sister, Joan (Elhart) Mickelson of Neillsville; brothers: Marvin (Esther) Johnson of Anoka, MN, Gordon (Susie) Johnson of Onamia, and Gail Johnson of Rockford, MN; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and scores of cherished friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Laura Johnson; brothers: Ralph (Prudence) Johnson, Burton (Helen) Johnson, Loren Johnson and his wife Debara; and sister-in-law, Barbara (Gail) Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that condolences be expressed through kind works or donations to a favorite charity or service organization.
