Obituary of Lyle Wills
Lyle Lee Wills, age 58, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at his residence.
Services will be at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, December 30th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Rev. Kevin Ader will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
Lyle was born in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on November 21, 1955 to Robert and Delores (Budtke) Wills. He attended Lincoln High School and received his GED from Mid-State Technical College. Lyle married Kim Brody on September 19, 1981 at First English Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The couple was blessed with 32 years of marriage.
Lyle began his career with the railroad in June of 1974, working for Chicago and North Western Railroad, which later became Union Pacific Railroad.
Lyle was a hard working, dedicated man who enjoyed his work, his family and his free time. He liked his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, following his son, Cody to motocross races, horseback riding, driving 4-wheelers, and when he was younger dirt bikes. Lyle also loved to travel. He enjoyed going on cruises, taking trips to Jamaica, and going out west elk hunting. He fell in love with the west, especially Wyoming and had even considered moving there. He also was an avid Green Bay Packer and NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his wife: Kim Wills; one son: Cody (Andrea) Wills and sweet little grandson Brayton Wills of Wisconsin Rapids; his parents: Robert and Delores Wills of Wisconsin Rapids; four sisters: Sandy (John) Egerer and their children: Jamie Murphy and Jenni Egerer of Wisconsin Rapids and Josh Egerer of Greenfield, WI; Susan Wills of Wisconsin Rapids; Sarah Wills and her children: Elijah and Phaedra Jinsky of Wisconsin Rapids; Stacy Wills and her children: Amanda and Ashley Koch of Wisconsin Rapids; mother and father-in-law: Wayne and Sandra Brody of Wisconsin Rapids; brother-in-law: Russell (Peg) Brody and their son Jace Brody of Wisconsin Rapids; and special friend: Doug (Tux) and Sue Tuxhorn of Wisconsin Rapids. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Edward and Dora Budtke; paternal grandparents: Doris and Glen Wills; and nephew, Tad Brody.
