Obituary of Herbert Hetzel
Herbert Ervin Hetzel, 82, Wisconsin Rapids, died Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Riverview Hospital.
Services will be at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, December 30th at United Methodist Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Marty Nolet will officiate. Entombment will be in Forest Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Monday at the church.
Herbert was born in Rudolph, WI on July 22, 1931 to Frederick and Minna (Marzofka) Hetzel . He graduated from St. Paul?s Lutheran School, Lincoln High School, and Wood County Normal School. He married Ethel O?Dell on January 30, 1954 at United Methodist Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
Herbert was employed by Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company, Port Edwards mill in the finishing department, retiring in 1993 after 40 years of service.
He was a member the United Methodist Church and a former member of the Moose Lodge.
Herbert loved woodworking projects, traveling, camping, and fishing. He enjoyed refurbishing furniture and making toys for his great-grandchildren. Herbert?s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Ethel; daughter Wendy Schwartz; two sons: Keith and Todd Hetzel, all of Wisconsin Rapids; four grandchildren: Nichole (Kevin) Saal, Wausau; Michelle Bergeron (Robert Andreason), Wisconsin Rapids; Danielle Schwartz, Wisconsin Rapids and Kendel Gaetz Hetzel, Wisconsin Rapids; seven great-grandchildren: Tyreese and Kallie Saal; Louis and Maxual Bergeron; Memphis Hanneman-Bergeron; Vaughn and Nora Bergeron-Andreason; one brother: Robert Hetzel, Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters: Verna Jepson, Wisconsin Rapids and Norma Hogan, Rudolph; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Newman and Mildred Riske and son-in-law, Jeffrey Schwartz.
