Obituary of Allen Van Natta

Allen Warner Van Natta, age 73, of Nekoosa, died Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Ministry Saint Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield following an automobile accident. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 1, 2104 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Rev. Milt Van Natta will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Arpin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Allen was born May 31, 1940 in Arpin, Wisconsin to Milton and Mayme (Fritz) Van Natta. After high school Allen enlisted in the United States Army and spent 3 years stationed in the Far East. He then joined the Air Force and spent another 4 years, also in the Far East. After taking a short ?break? he reenlisted, this time in the Navy, where he spent another 13 years until his retirement from service in January 1994. Allen enjoyed carpentry and spending time at church. He was an active member of a close group of friends who held regular bible studies together. Allen is survived by his brother, Bruce Dale (Carol) Van Natta; sister-in-law, Gail Van Natta; and brother-in-law, Earl Dorow; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Mayme Van Natta, sisters: Marjorie Blatt, Betty Herr, and Nancy Dorow, and brothers: James Van Natta and Daniel Van Natta.
