Obituary of Harold Kolstad

Harold Gilman Kolstad, 93, Wisconsin Rapids, went to his eternal home on Saturday January 4, 2014 at Saint Joseph?s Hospital, Marshfield. Services will be at First English Lutheran Church, 440 Garfield Street, Wisconsin Rapids, at 12:00 Noon on Thursday January 9, 2014. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, 2201 Chestnut Street, Wisconsin Rapids and from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the church. Harold was born April 26, 1920 in Marshfield to Gilman and Laura (Wundrow) Kolstad. He married Norma Joyce Anderson, August 22, 1944 at St. John?s Lutheran Church, Auburndale. They were blessed with 69 years of marriage. Harold farmed in the Arpin area, operated a milk hauling business, and was later employed by Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church and Sons of Norway, and took great pleasure in friends and family. He was a man who spoke love and grace by his work rather than words, and will be missed by all who knew him. Harold is survived by his wife, Norma; three sons: Kenneth (Maureen) Kolstad, Town of Arpin, Russell (Mary Lippert) Kolstad and Darrell (Jane) Kolstad, Madison area; one daughter, Dawn (Randy) Bassuener, Boulder Junction; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters: Arlene (Ronald) Marti, Vesper, and Olga (Fred) Witt, Wisconsin Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters (Marjorie Klumb, Phyllis Locher); two brothers (Russell, Harvey).
