Obituary of Carl Edward Jagodzinski

Carl Edward Jagodzinski, age 76, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield with his wife of 58 years at his side. Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 25th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Wisconsin Rapids. Father John Steiner will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Carl was born in Wisconsin Rapids on November 8, 1937 to Raymond and Barbara (Adams) Jagodzinski. He married Barbara Wolf on December 10, 1955 in Pittsville. Carl worked for Mid-State Distributors for 42 years as a semi truck driver. He also owned and operated his own small business "Rebuild Plus" where he repaired starters and alternators. Carl had a warm personality and the gift of gab and loved spending time with his family and friends. He and Barbara were able to enjoy several trips camping and traveling in their motor home. They enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas and Florida, and were even able to attend a few Daytona 500 races as Carl was an avid NASCAR fan. Carl also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, golfing, snowmobiling, working on cars, and his new furry friend, Penny. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; one son: Rick (Jill) Jagodzinski, Wisconsin Rapids; two daughters: Cheryl (Mike) Schymanski, Wisconsin Rapids; Connie (Scott) Steele, Vesper; two grandchildren: Troy (Lisa) Ortscheid, Wisconsin Rapids; Melody (Seth) Dupee, Arpin; two great-grandchildren: Jeff Ortscheid and Haley Goldberg, both of Wisconsin Rapids; one son-in-law: Bill Davis, Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters: Dolores (Edwin) Wipfli and Arlene (Jere) Friday, all of Vesper; brother: Raymond Jagodzinski, Wisconsin Rapids; many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Cindy Davis, two brothers, Donald and Frank, and one sister, Pat Zieher. Memorials may be designated to South Wood County Humane Society or UW Cancer Center-Riverview.
