Obituary of Donald E. Kouba

Donald E. Kouba, age 59, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Monday, January 27, 2014 at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Thursday and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday, all at the funeral home. Don was born in Wisconsin Rapids on November 5, 1954 to Emil and Donabelle (Petersen) Kouba. He graduated from Nekoosa High School in 1972. Don married Cindy Frank on September 25, 1976. Don was employed by Nekoosa-Edwards Paper Company, later Georgia Pacific and Domtar in the Port Edwards and Nekoosa mills and retired after 40 years of service. He had a loving, easy going disposition and a great sense of humor. Don always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone in need. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter. In his spare time Don enjoyed bowling, golfing, and deer hunting with his family. He was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on the Packers, Badgers, and the Brewers and participating in fantasy football leagues. Survivors include his loving wife, Cindy; two daughters: Melissa (Josh) Saeland, Franklin, TN; Jessica (Daniel) Bradley, Plover, WI; one granddaughter, Makayla; his parents: Emil and Donabelle Kouba, Nekoosa; two sisters: Brenda (Jim) Kizewski, Wisconsin Rapids and Terri (Tom) Beversdorf, Nekoosa; one brother, Tom Kouba, Adams; father-in-law, Richard "Augie" Frank, Wisconsin Rapids; two brothers-in-law: Randy (Pam) Frank, White Bear Lake, MN and Doug Frank, Wisconsin Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and mother-in-law: Lorraine Frank. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Kirschling and the staff at UW Cancer Center-Riverview, the staff at Riverview Hospital, and Dr. Miller and Dr. Garde for their exceptional care and concern for Don.
