Obituary of Edwin Richard Beyer
Edwin Richard Beyer, 74, Wisconsin Rapids, died early Monday, February 3, 2014 at his residence.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 6th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Father John Steiner will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
Edwin was born in Beaver Dam, WI on September 11, 1939 to Edwin and Violet (Ford) Beyer. He married Sandy Miller on March 5, 1966 in Wisconsin Rapids.
Edwin worked as an electronics technician for 3M, Oreida and Georgia- Pacific and Domtar until his retirement in 2003. He also operated his own real estate business, Ed Beyer Realty for several years.
Edwin served his country in the Navy from 1957 to 1959 and in the Air Force from 1961 to 1965.
He loved his wife and children, and was especially devoted to his grandchildren. Edwin was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, especially for muskies, and camping up north. He also liked going to the casino.
Survivors include his wife: Sandy Beyer, Wisconsin Rapids; two daughters: Monea (Thomas) Rowe, Neenah, WI; Michelle (Todd) Forcier, Wisconsin Rapids; one son: Edwin H. Beyer, Wisconsin Rapids; five grandchildren: Maghan Rowe, Rebekah and Kalie Forcier and Alicia and Riley Beyer; two sisters: Betty Ann (Jerry) Hughes; Sandra (Kenneth) Chen; and Sherwood (Melanie) Beyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved grandson, Jordan, and infant sister, Judith.
