Obituary of Carl Edward Fischer

Carl Edward Fischer, 83, Rudolph, passed away early Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Sylvan Crossings in Stevens Point. A Celebration of life will be held at the Grotto Shrine on August 31, 2014 in Rudolph, WI. Rev. Paul Plowman will officiate. Carl was born in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on August 31, 1930 to Carl Immanuel and Flora (Lee) Fischer. He married Beverly Ann Truman on July 5, 1958 in the Little Brown Church in Iowa. Carl was a truck driver for Gross-Common Carriers for 40 years. He served his country in the Army from February 1, 1951 to January 29, 1953 Active Duty and from January 30, 1953 to November 6, 1956 in the Army Reserve. Carl loved his family and spending time with them whenever he could. During his younger years his parents owned and operated Treasure Attic Antiques in Wisconsin Rapids. Carl carried on with his parent's passion for antiques, with his wife Beverly at their own store, Fischer's Antiques in Rudolph. He also enjoyed going for walks had a love for a variety of animals, and especially enjoyed vanilla ice cream. Survivors include his beloved wife Beverly; five children: Scott Fischer, Rudolph, WI and his children: Benjamin and Elliott; Mark Fischer, Rudolph, WI; Robin (Paul) Plowman, Tomah, WI and their children, James (Erica), David, Jonathan (Amber), Rachel, Jacob, Andrew, Jesse, and Tommy Plowman; Penny Fischer-Hahn, Wisconsin Rapids, WI and her children Rissa and Katie; Joseph (Sara) Fischer, Plover, WI and their children, Madison, Jackson, and Elly; great-grandson Levi Fischer (son of Benjamin); siblings: Gloria (Marvin) Bocaner, Wisconsin Rapids; Pam (Greg) Nettesheim, Wisconsin Rapids; special nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Flora, sister Geneva Becker, and son John Fischer. The family extends a special thank you to Heartland Hospice and Sylvan Crossings for their great care and compassion for Carl and his family. Also a special thank you to family friend and caregiver Lori Fuller-Johnson for her care and compassion to our family and special joy she brought to dad.
