Obituary of Henrietta Josephine Knutson

Henrietta Josephine Knutson, 81, Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Wisconsin Rapids Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after battling with cancer. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 17th at Saratoga Moravian Church. Rev. Olaf Anderson will officiate. Entombment will be in Forest Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 16th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center and again from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the church. Henrietta was born in Wood County, WI on October 31, 1932 to Philip and Stella (Iwanski) Arnold. She attended one- room school houses in Wood County and graduated from Pittsville High School in 1949. Henrietta married Edward G. Knutson, on June 25, 1951 in Nekoosa, WI. The couple was blessed with 62 years of marriage. Henrietta and Edward owned and operated their own business in Wisconsin Rapids for 52 years. Henrietta was involved in the community, serving as a school census taker, and as Saratoga school clerk for the five country schools. She was an active member of Saratoga Moravian Church. She held leadership positions in Women's Fellowship and Christian education. She also served on the trustees committee. She truly loved her family and was known to be a very hard worker. Henrietta was very adventurous and courageous. She enjoyed riding roller coasters and even went parasailing. She also loved camping, traveling, and going on cruises. She was fortunate to be able to visit many places including Hawaii, Mexico and several other locations. Survivors include her husband Edward G. Knutson, Sr.; children: Linda (Bob) DuBois, Superior, WI; Ed "Butch" (Kathryn "Kathy") Knutson Jr., Weatherford, TX; Michael Knutson, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; three grandchildren: Danielle, Matthew, and Christina; two great-grandchildren: Shane and Jayden; one sister: Stella White, Green Lake, WI; twin brother: Henry J. Arnold, Menomonee Falls, WI; and many cousins and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers,( Philip Arnold and Andrew Arnold), and daughter-in-law, Patricia Knutson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to Saratoga Moravian Church, Wisconsin Rapids.
